Holiday Schedules

December 8th, 2011

We will be closing December 22 for Christmas and will remain closed until January 2 following New Years. You may still place orders but they will be held in queue.

Just wanted to thank everyone for the support thus far. We are continue to produce on a very small scale and only service through our web store. We are hoping someone will come along and help us get this brand going!

Our men’s line continues to be the strongest and we continue to sell of the women’s. We haven’t decided on dropping it yet or not. However we are extremely low in stock on the women’s, so if you want to place an order for those products please email us inquiry@uwearusa.com to make sure we have what you need!

Who we are?

July 14th, 2011

While having trouble getting supplies I had asked that folks call ahead and check to make sure we had in inventory what they needed. During that time we received tons of emails from folks checking inventory. But we also had many to ask two basic questions and so I wanted to take some time to answer that for folks.

  • Is our product made in America? There seems to be a lot of skeptical people our there and I guess rightly so! After all, you order online or purchase something in the store that appears to be Made In America and it really isn’t when you begin to look at the details. The marketing savvy of many of these companies is incredible. However, the UWEARUSA brand is a what you see is what you get brand. It is completely and entirely made here in the USA. The heat seals are made for us by a small company in Hickory, North Carolina; the brand labels are made by Avery Dennison USA; the elastics come from a small company in North Carolina; and the fabric has been coming from a small company in Spartanburg, South Carolina; we did recently purchase some fabric from a small company in North Carolina simply because of supply problems; and it is all cut and sewn at Hemingway Apparel, in Hemingway, South Carolina.
  • Who are we? My name is Chris Marsh and I was raised in Hemingway working in my Dad’s factory where the garments are currently sewn (Hemingway Apparel). I own Uwear, Inc., which is pretty much a “one man” operation. Because the company is so small sometimes I have delays in getting the product picked and shipped, but I always try to let the customer know if that is going to be the case. I was recently asked why I was the only one claiming a supply problem. Uwear was being compared to large retailers and the like. The larger companies would never publicize a supply chain problem and to compound the issue for Uwear we are simply “out gunned” by the larger companies volume and pricing. So naturally we get shuffled to the bottom of the suppliers priorities. That being said, we are much like our consumer. We are a small American company struggling to provide Americans with a good solid and lasting product that is 100% Made in America.

I am also a Bi-Vocational Pastor at a church called Crossover. I believe in the values that this country was founded on and although small I hope we can do our part to contribute to the American economy the old fashioned way. Faith, Hard Work, Honesty, Family, and a strong desire to Make something from the blessings God has given us!

July 4th Schedule

June 28th, 2011

UWEAR WILL BE CLOSED THURSDAY, JUNE 30TH – MONDAY, JULY 11TH
Orders placed after 12:00pm on Wednesday, June 29th, will not ship until the week of July 16th.

On another note, the supply is beginning to ease and are stock levels are coming up, YAY!

Stock Shortage

December 13th, 2010

We continue to deplete our stock as we try to wait out the cotton crisis. There continues to be a cotton shortage domestically and the prices of cotton have nearly doubled in the last 18 months.

We do advise calling or emailing us to check stock levels before placing orders. Critical items are the Men’s Briefs and Boxers. So many of you have been extremely patient and we are eternally grateful. Our target is to have stock levels back up in February.

If any of you have solid leads on any national retailers that would have an interest in our products I would love to hear from you. Because we are a small company, most retailers have not been receptive to even doing a test market. The demand for US made goods seems to be strong but it is severely hampered by the availability of those goods at retail level. Once again I believe with all of my heart that we can put Americans back to work, if we work together as Americans!

Yarn Shortage!

September 3rd, 2010

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to give an update. There is a huge yarn shortage for the products we make! Combined with the fact that it must be 100% Domestic.
This shortage is really hurting. We have been told that it will begin to loosen up sometime November-December. There really isn’t a lot we can do about stock until then. I wish I could. We have several folks that placed orders and said, “I’ll wait!”. Wow, the products speak for themselves.
Please send an email to uwear asking about inventory levels before placing on order. Thanks!

Update

March 30th, 2010

Wow! what a year this has been. As you all know we are very small, but we produce an awesome product. Being small, we tend to run into supply problems and after work thru them. But so far, we are able to do just that. We have only been selling via the web store.
It appears that the Men’s Underwear is the most popular, but we believe that is a gender trend. Women who have purchased the underwear, have returned and purchased more. It appears that Women preferr to make first time purchases in store rather than thru the internet.
Hopefully, this year, we can grow the business a little more. We are working on getting our tees back up in the web store. We had a set back with the fabric shrinking too much. That seems to be resolved.
To all who have supported us thus far, thank you!
